"Lightweight and practical but not for all" 2009-10-22

My friend ordered one due to being bed ridden with a back injury. She loves it. It is made with very light weight wood and has a nice finish to it. The assembly process was ok, not great, as the instructions were not quite clear or simply didn't match the pictures provided. I ordered one from her recommendation without even seeing the product. Before my order had arrived, I had a chance to view her desk and immediately stopped my order simply because this was not what I had expected. Although it is very light weight, it is also not as sturdy as I would have liked, noting you should first set up the desk and then rest your laptop on it. Forget a 17" laptop as the 15" unit was about all this could handle.

The problem isn't with the product as much as the return policy in place. Yes, you are ordering through Amazon but they really have nothing to do with anything as the email is simply forwarded to the company providing you the product. Because I was wanting to return my item before it arrived, this did not happen because I did not receive a response from my initial email until after the product arrived. I did not open the product as I heard from the company the following day, which they said to 'refuse the package' which I couldn't do because I had not received their email in time. So I returned it to FEDEX only to learn I had to take it to a different FEDEX because it was a 'land order' not an 'air order'.. once this was done, I waited for my refund, which took an additional 2 weeks. The reason was because they told me (only after I had placed a negative review) the product was returned damaged and was so bad it could not be resold, although I was assured my full refund was approved, they ended up 'crediting my amazon account' because they did not have my credit card information (again this is where amazon is probably a good thing for security purposes but not when it comes to returns). I just now received my return to my credit card and have removed the negative review of the product because the product itself is quite good for what it does... just wanted people to be aware of the return policy which sucks and should be sure you want this BEFORE you order it.
