I bought this table for my wife for Christmas, and when it arrived, the packaging had been a little damaged in transit. I opened the box to find that all the marks on the outside of the box had translated into marks and damage to the table as well: hence, inadequate packaging for shipping was a corner cut by the manufacturer. One deep dent (albeit some others were minor) affected the edge of the table top, also revealing that the surface finish has a crumbly and inferior veneer used, which will doubtless be fairly easy to abuse and damage with everyday use. Warning to those who expect a beautiful table! This one will hardly stay beautiful for long, as ours wasn't even there when it came new out of the box.
I also noticed that the table lacks pre-drilled holes in the underside of the tabletop, suggesting exactly where the hinged and support attachments would go, so the manufacturer clearly leaves this (rather critical) measuring step ENTIRELY up to the customer. If you have little patience for measuring things accurately, then you'll clearly become one of the disenfranchised customers who end up drilling the holes just a tiny bit "off" by mistake, and end up assembling the table to find that things don't fit so perfectly. Either view this as a shortcoming, or else the manufacturer was trying to leave you some options, since you'll have to decide which side of the table top is "less abused" when it arrives, and which one you want face-up.
My wife approved its condition despite these factors, and asked me to proceed with the assembly, assuming that her large cutting mat would cover the table top anyway... so I proceeded to build it... counted all the pieces, definitely enough screws and all with a couple to spare, so that was good. But once I got to step 3 of the Universal pictogram instructions, I found that the bottom of the legs, where the 4 miniature feet are supposed to screw in, had been drilled and threaded unequally, and leg #4 was a smaller hole than the thread on the screw provided. Tried all the feet, all were equal and wouldn't work in this 4th leg... (Getting the picture yet?)
My overall impression of the table is that it's adequate, but that's all. That would be the nicest thing I could say; I'm a patient person and will give everything a chance; I persist even in the face of adversity, and took all the time necessary to assemble this table correctly. Overall, a slight disappointment.
